His founder Mr. Sostenes Armando Lopez Velazco of Mexican nationality, born at the beginning of May 1903 in Ahuijullo, Jal. inside a humble family and in a home surrounded with principles and values, being very young and staying without father stimulated by the need, he left the school to begin to work because he had the intention of helping to his family.
When he was a teenager, he decided to emigrate to Guadalajara city, there he proved a different types of jobs, This fact has taking him to focus on the hardware business. To his 39 years, he put some types of tools on the street, next to MERCADO LIBERTAD (SAN JUAN DE DIOS), in less than one month he bought a place of wood, also on the same street, in a little time he rented a space inside to the MERCADO LIBERTAD.
Joined in marriage with Maria Luisa Cortes Gonzalez now of López, he was stimulated for his desire of growing and with the support of his wife, during the remodeling of the MERCADO LIBERTAD in 1939 approximately, he took the decision to change his company in Dionisio Rodríguez street, only two streets ahead to the MERCADO LIBERTAD, in the same street of the “PLAZA DE TOROS EL PROGRESO” in front to the “HOSPICIO CABAÑAS” he stayed there even 1952. When he to changed of place again, because of the delay in the reconstruction of the MERCADO LIBERTAD, being his new location the “CALZADA INDEPENDENCIA NORTE # 312-A” sector LIBERTAD crossing with the REPUBLICA street.
In 1962 his son Héctor López Cortes (Tito), opened the first branch in BELISARIO DOMÍNGUEZ corner with ESTEBAN A LA TORRE in GUADALAJARA, JAL.
